As part of its Open Air Belval series--which will see the likes of Black Eyed Peas perform on 15 June--Rockhal in partnership with the Luxembourg Post is organising a free concert on Sunday 19 June which will spotlight local artists.

As part of Esch2022, the Rockhal is organising a series of open-air concerts right in front of its venue in Belval. Until now, three additional events have been proposed: Black Eyed Peas on Wednesday 15 June, Imagine Dragons the following day, and American rocker band The Killers on 10 July. A fourth event will bring together almost the entire Luxembourg music scene on the same site (with a capacity of up to 10,000 people).

Philharmonic version

In association with Post, the Rockhal will highlight solo artists and bands from the contemporary scene including as Chaild, Edsun, Francis of Delirium, Maz or Tuys but also those who have left their mark on Luxembourg's music a little further back: Dream Catcher, Park Café, Surf Cowboys.

A free event scheduled for Sunday 19 June in the late afternoon (5pm) for a duration of approximately two hours. Each artist is invited to perform a song accompanied by a Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra led by Gast Waltzing, winner of a Grammy award in the Best World Music Album category in 2016.

Imagine Dragons sold out

As far as the other three Open Air Belval concerts are concerned, Imagine Dragons' is sold out (except for a few VIP seats). But those interested can still take a look at the Rockhal website from time to time. A few tickets may be on sale soon. For the Black Eyed Peas and The Killers, however, tickets are still available.

Editors and Paolo Nutini at the Rockhal

English rock band Editors will take the stage on 5 October in the large hall of Rockhal and, on 6 October Scottish crooner Paolo Nutini will perform in the more laid-back setting of the Esch venue's club.

Macy Gray, a staple of the R&B sound of the 1990s and 2000s, will be at den Atelier on 9 November. That's 10 days before the performance of the Irish band Kodaline.
