While RTL Group’s turnover for 2024 was stable at nearly €6.3bn, streaming revenues rose by 42%, according to the Luxembourg-based group’s latest figures.

RTL Group, majority-owned by German media group Bertelsmann and headquartered in Luxembourg, has announced global sales of €6.25bn for 2024, or a slight increase of 0.3% year-on-year (€6.23bn). According to the company’s 2024 results, released on 20 March 2025, it is streaming revenues that are boosting results with an increase of 42%.

More specifically, streaming revenues reached €403m in 2024 compared with €283m in 2023. This growth is attributed to a significantly higher number of paying subscribers, higher subscription prices in Germany and rapid growth in advertising revenues on RTL+ in Germany and M6+ in France. RTL Group also saw a 21% increase in its number of paid streaming subscribers to 6.8m and expects this business to be profitable in 2026.

Acquisition of RTL Netherlands finalised

Despite a slight decrease in adjusted Ebita to €721m, the group anticipates an increase to around €780m for 2025, mainly due to a reduction in losses related to the startup of streaming activities. The company expects to post revenues of around €6.45bn in 2025, up from €6.25bn last year.

“RTL Group expects to receive the necessary approvals from regulatory authorities in the second quarter of 2025 to sell RTL Nederland to DPG Media and finalise the transaction,” the Luxembourg group also stated in its press release. DPG Media announced in December 2023 that it had reached an agreement to acquire RTL Nederland for €1.1bn, according to the Belga agency.
