Synopsis (translated from ): Documentary film released ahead of the 1999 municipal elections, in which nationals of EU countries living in Luxembourg first had the right to vote and stand for election and marked a turning point in the evolution of democracy. The notions of citizenship and belonging will be transformed by the arrival in political life of a new generation of voters: young men and women of immigrant origin.

Tomorrow, they will be able to vote in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as foreigners without having to hold Luxembourg nationality. But are these young people, most of whom were born in Luxembourg, really merit being "classified" as foreigners? Are they not more foreign to their country or culture of origin than they are to their host country? The documentary attempted to answer this question. The aim is to take stock of the situation and highlight one of the components of the population of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg that is already integrated into social and economic life.

The film paints a portrait of a section of the population of foreign origin, namely those from Italy, as an example of the issue of assimilation rather than integration (Italians in Luxembourg represent some 30,000 people).

Synopsis (as published on the Tarantula website): “‘A piece of sky’ tells the story of the resistance of a group of women prisoners and female factory workers. In prison, Joanne questions the authority of those detaining her. Meanwhile, the past catches up with Claudine, working on the production line at the factory, a past which closely binds her to Joanne. Joanne’s lawyer asks her to reveal what drove her friend to violence: accepting to testify would mean denouncing the union structure that still seems to be protecting her. The drama shifts between the factory and the prison, between the personal and the political. Joanna at first relents, cracks and then finally finds within her the strength to forevermore proclaim her right to dignity and the dignity of the women around her. Claudine stands up for herself. She accepts to testify, leading the struggle in the factory, and rejoins Joanna in her radical stance. She refuses the compromise offered by the union structure and accepts the fact of her exclusion. Two women reveal their true selves in their refusal to compromise and are offered an opportunity to renew their friendship.”
