Thanks to the efforts of more than 15,000 participants over a 24-hour period, €1,254,463 was raised to support patients and their families, fund prevention initiatives and support scientific research.
“Relais pour la vie is a powerful symbol. A symbol of hope, solidarity and continuity. Because when it comes to cancer, the journey does not end with the diagnosis or the completion of treatment. It is a long-term struggle, with many needs – human, practical and essential.” These words, spoken by Dr Carole Bauer, President of Fondation Cancer, during the opening ceremony, fully reflect the spirit of the 2026 edition of Relais pour la vie, which once again brought together an exceptional level of support.
On 21 and 22 March, more than 15,000 participants, divided into 548 teams, came together to show their solidarity with cancer patients and their loved ones, in an atmosphere that was both moving and full of hope. For 24 hours, the teams took turns, both in person and remotely, forming a continuous human chain.

Fondation Cancer: for you, with you, thanks to you.
Founded in Luxembourg in 1994, Fondation Cancer has been working tirelessly for 30 years in the fight against cancer. Alongside providing information focused on prevention, screening and living with cancer, one of its missions is to support patients and their loved ones. Funding cancer research projects is the third pillar of the Fondation Cancer’s work; the organisation also runs the major charity event Relais pour la vie every year. All these initiatives are made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors.
