In the run-up to the elections, Paperjam will offer five thematic round tables in French with simultaneous translation into English. They can also be followed live via streaming.

The year 2023 will be marked by two elections: the municipal elections on 11 June, then the legislative elections on 8 October. Delano’s sister publication Paperjam will get involved in the public debate by proposing five thematic round tables. The exchanges will take place in French, with simultaneous translation into English.

The four round tables related to the national elections will be organised in the PwC offices, and will be attended by 500 people. They can also be followed on the website via a stream which will be provided by the UEL and its members: the ACA, the ABBL, the Horesca, the Fedil, the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Crafts, the CLC and the Federation of Artisans.

The fifth round table, dedicated to the municipal elections, will be held in the Chamber of Commerce and can also be followed via streaming thanks to Maison Moderne.

28 March--Housing crisis: what concrete actions should be taken tomorrow?

The (+100% in 10 years for houses, and 153% for flats), (2,000 housing units are lacking every year) and (with a strong and continuous increase in the active population) are all indicators that testify to the immense challenges relating to housing policy. Ensuring access to housing, whether rented or owned, and at affordable prices for as many people as possible, is primarily a question of social equity.  highlighted once again that this lack of housing will quickly lead to a problem of attractiveness for Luxembourg, particularly at the level of the financial centre, which will then degrade its competitiveness.

This round table will be moderated by (editor-in-chief of Paperjam Architecture + Real Estate) and (editor-in-chief of Paperjam).

With the participation of (déi Gréng), (DP), Max Leners (LSAP), (CSV), Sylvie Mischel (ADR), (déi Lénk) and Chloé Timmermann (Piraten).

6 June--Economy, competitiveness and sustainable development: which companies for Luxembourg?

The financial centre is still the largest sector of activity in Luxembourg and the biggest contributor to public finances. The various governments are nevertheless trying to diversify the economy. But while just before it, the future of the remains uncertain and everything is being done , many questions arise. Which companies does Luxembourg want to attract and why? How can we attract them and convince them to come? What aid can be offered to them and should certain administrative procedures be accelerated in their favour? What criteria should be used to select them? What economic landscape do we want for Luxembourg in 2030? What red lines should we set in terms of sustainable development?

This round table will be moderated by Nicolas Léonard (editor-in-chief of Paperjam) and (journalist at Paperjam).

With the participation of (LSAP), (DP), (déi Gréng) and (ADR). The names of the participants for CSV, déi Lénk and Piratepartei are still pending confirmation.

27 June--Taxation, public finance and the financial centre

How can we further develop the financial centre, which remains the main contributor to the state coffers? This is one of the questions this round table will have to answer. It is a question that is not without importance, since , and perhaps even the modernisation of society, will depend on it. How to ensure social transfers? Should growth remain an objective or should taxation be reviewed? How can we understand the concept of controlled degrowth? in line with inflation? Has the time come to tax capital more heavily again?

This round table will be moderated by (journalist at Paperjam) and (journalist at Paperjam).

With the participation of (DP), (déi Gréng), Jerry Weyer (Piraten), (ADR). The names of the participants for the CSV, déi Lénk and LSAP are still awaiting confirmation.

Luxembourg City is not a city like any other. It has 130,000 residents, but its population doubles on work days. And 7 out of 10 inhabitants of Luxembourg are expatriates from more than 170 different nations.

This round table will be moderated by Pierre Pailler (journalist at Paperjam) and (journalist at Delano).

With the participation of (DP), François Benoy (déi Gréng), (LSAP), Pascal Clement (Piraten), Alex Penning (ADR) and (CSV). The name of the participant from déi Lénk is still pending confirmation.
