One of the BBC’s Online Dragons and co-founder of First Tuesday, Meyer talked about the changing face of business, explained the important steps in setting up a business and made reference to her website and forthcoming book Entrepreneur Country.
She emphasized the importance of ideas, but also the importance of communicating ideas. “If you focus on the business and the idea, and not on the money, then the money will find you,” she told budding entrepreneurs.
Meyer says that the under 30s generation don’t want to work for someone else but already see themselves as their own brand. This requires a new mindset among business leaders and government to encourage entrepreneurship, says Meyer. “Everything that was linear and hierarchal has gone network.”
The event was held January 12 at the Cercle Cité in Luxembourg City.
