Over 25,000 visitors flocked to Luxexpo to browse among the stands selling anything from bargain second-hand paperback at the Book Stand to colourful print make-up pouches at the Kenyan Stand, from elegant designer lunchboxes at the Swiss Stand to rubber Sumo wigs at the Japanese Stand.
But the main attraction for many was the array of international cuisine and drink available--visitors could taste paella, ostrich steak, mezes, curries, raclette, chocolate dipped fruit, crêpes and baklava or quaff on Belgian beer, Australian wine or Irish coffee.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa made her customary visit to the bazaar on the opening afternoon, this time accompanied by daughters in law, princesses Claire and Tessy, the wives, respectively of Prince Felix and Prince Louis.
