In the run up to the Tour de France--cycling’s premiere contest, which kicked off Saturday--around 20 financial professionals took their own cycling challenge.

The fund services firm Alter Domus hosted its second “Afterwork Cycling Tuesdays” last month. Staff and invited guests participated in a 50km course with the former professional cyclist Tom Flammang, and with the up-and-comers Tom Wirtgen and Pit Schechter of the Leopard Development Team.

“The professional riders guided participants through a circuit that included the beautiful scenery of the Moselle valley, providing a great opportunity for our own talented cyclists to test themselves with some of the best riders out there,” according to Alter Domus.

“I thoroughly enjoyed (sort of!) what was my second bike ride of the year, that is the flat and downhill parts of the route,” Paul Evans, managing director of United Advisors, said in an emailed statement. “As expected, the camaraderie of the riders was great and so was the post ride meal and chat.”

The Alter Domus after work rides took place on 16 and 30 June. The Tour de France continues until Sunday 26 July.
