Luxembourg’s employment bureau has launched services in English.
Adem added Anglophone support to both its jobseeker and employer hotlines earlier this week.
The agency’s “Contact Center” is the first point of all employment inquiries, it said in an announcement on Wednesday. “The staff provides useful information, answers the incoming requests either directly or puts the client in touch with the relevant department.”
The language of Shakespeare has joined the Grand Duchy’s three official languages--Luxembourgish, French and German--as a lingua franca at the centre.
Last year Statec, Luxembourg’s statistics agency, said English was the fourth most commonly used language in the country.
Adem support hotlines are open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 12noon and from 1.00pm to 5:00pm. Jobseekers should phone 247-88888, and employers should phone 247-88000.
