Present in more than 70 countries, the MSF is more than 98% privately funded, enabling it to maintain its independence and freedom of action to provide emergency medical assistance to populations affected by armed conflict, natural disasters or epidemics.

Innovating for a good cause

(MSF) has joined the  consortium, a collective initiative bringing together seven Luxembourg NGOs accredited by the (MAEE). The consortium includes organisations such as , , , , , and .

Together, these NGOs offer Luxembourg companies an innovative and transparent way to enable their employees to support humanitarian projects through monthly donations, directly deducted from their salaries. By joining this initiative, the MSF actively contributes to a collaborative and engaging solution.

Payroll Giving: a unifying and easy-to-implement tool

The key features of the Payroll Giving system include:

Transversality: the company and its employees jointly select the project they wish to support.

Flexibility: employees choose the amount of their donation and can adjust or stop it at any time.

Simplicity: once set up in the company’s payroll software, the process runs entirely automatically. Padem provides support throughout the implementation.

No additional costs: there are no fees for either the employees or the company in managing these donations.

Tax benefits: donations are tax-deductible according to the regulations in the employee’s country of residence.

Transparency: the NGOs within the consortium, including the MSF, ensure transparent fund management and are committed to providing regular updates on the supported project’s progress.

A collective effort for sustainable impact

“Our company supports this initiative because we believe in corporate social responsibility and the positive impact we can have on our community,” says Cécile Wagner from , a partner of the MSF.

Several companies in Luxembourg have already taken part in the Payroll Giving.lu programme, contributing to concrete initiatives aligned with one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations.
