The first-ever Nexus 2050 is taking shape: the technology trade fair, put together by The Dots and Maison Moderne, will take place on 26-27 June 2024 at Luxexpo The Box.

For its first edition, Nexus 2050 will focus on artificial intelligence; sustainability and cybersecurity; and--key themes for Luxembourg--fintech and talent.

“Six weeks ago, we , Nexus 2050,” says , co-founder of the economic interest group (GIE) Nexus 2050. “From its very first edition, we chose Luxexpo as the venue because it’s the largest professional space suitable for hosting a B2B show.”

“Feedback from the market has been very positive,” adds , the GIE’s other co-founder. “This is true both from government entities and the private sector, both in Luxembourg and internationally. We are on the verge of announcing important strategic partnerships in the coming weeks and months.”

The event seeks to hasten the ecological and digital transitions by encouraging the deployment of technology for the benefit of governments, organisations and businesses, i.e., to help them hit their carbon neutral strategies by 2050. It’s about using technology to advance human progress, considering both productivity gains and ethical issues.

The organisers’ six commitments

The Dots and Maison Moderne have made six additional commitments for the event itself:

1. We will prioritise equal representation on stage.

2. Our ticketing strategy will be mindful of gender dynamics at technology events and empower women through better networking opportunities.

3. We will encourage our visitors, speakers and partners to use public transport.

4. We will commit to offsetting carbon emissions resulting from flights taken by our international speakers.

5. We will prioritise zero-waste solutions, and actively encourage our partners and exhibitors to do the same in their activities (e.g. catering, merchandise, stand design).

6. We will partner with hotels located near the tram to ensure easy access via public transport (additional note for international visitors: all public transport in Luxembourg is free of charge).

Exhibition zone

The exhibition zone will feature three themed villages and “Startup Avenue.”

Finance District: Discover the future of financial innovation here, the revolutionary solutions redefining the landscape.

Pure Tech: See--via dynamic demonstrations and immersive workshops--how AI, technology and cybersecurity are converging to shape the digital frontier.

SkillSphere: Enter the world of talent recruitment and knowledge exchange through engaged discussions and collaborations, and see how academic institutions, recruitment agencies and R&D players form the nucleus of intellectual growth.

The Hive, aka “Startup Avenue”: Explore a meticulously selected range of global startups, meet innovative founders, find inspiration and discover potential business partnerships or investment opportunities.

International matchmaking zone

“In the Nexus 2050 International Matchmaking Zone, we’re committed to improving access to international markets for Luxembourg-based companies as well as attracting foreign direct investment,” say the organisers. “To streamline this process, we will provide a dedicated app and designated meeting space, both designed to facilitate meaningful business meetings.
