In Dealroom’s worldwide ranking of venture capitalists released on 24 October, you can see something special: the Luxembourg flag. Coming in at 145th overall, Mangrove Capital Partners additionally ranks 52nd in seed capital, a type of investment.

Mangrove Capital Partners? The Luxembourg firm was recently ranked 145th worldwide on Dealroom’s list of leading venture capitalists.

With five investments in unicorns, Mangrove’s strategy is to have 15-20% of its investments in billionaire companies, as Yannick Oswald in a blog post.

In a more detailed ranking, i.e., one that looks at seed rounds specifically, the firm rises to 52nd worldwide. When you further limit the results to the EMEA region, suddenly it’s 8th. It has several success stories to its name, including Skype, K-Health and Wix, and an investment portfolio of almost 100 companies.

Dominating Dealroom’s list are well-known firms Sequoia Capital, SV Angel and Accel.
