Jean-Marc Sirichai Kiesch, who is on Luxembourg’s list of most-wanted criminals, has just returned to a prison in Spain on 29 June 2022 to serve the rest of his sentence.

Expected to be brought back to the grand duchy to be incarcerated in Schrassig, Kiesch will remain in Spain for the time being, where he will serve the remaining 3,275 days of his prison sentence, the public prosecutor’s office revealed in a statement on 7 July

Kiesch was sentenced to 20 years in prison for murdering an elderly woman in Eppeldorf and then setting fire to the property to conceal the crime in 1999. He fled in October 2004 while on leave for good behaviour.

The convict, who was born in Thailand and carries Luxembourg nationality, was then on 10 August 2020 in Punta Umbria, Spain, following an intensive search by Fugitive Active Search Teams in Luxembourg and Spain and a 2016 appeal on www.eumostwanted.eu.

However, , he had been released by Spanish authorities on the basis that they could not recognise the accusation as Kiesch was still a minor--by one day--when he committed the crime.
