Why wait until July to discover Statec’s figures on the country’s largest employers? With Post’s press conference and annual report, the top 10 are all but out of the bag, with Dussmann slipping into second place.

At the end of January, the CFL consolidated its position as Luxembourg’s biggest private employer when it released its figure: 5,126 employees (as of 31 December 2023). The railway operator comes behind the state, of course, which has around 34,554 people on its payroll, plus some 15,000 municipal civil servants and 4,326 employees of the City of Luxembourg.

A year ago, Amazon came next in the ranking, but this time it looks like Dussmann: from 4,460 employees in 2023, the group is now 4,713 strong as of 31 December 2023.

And that leaves the Post, as confirmed in , in third place with 4,515.

Fourth place would be Cactus, with 4,290.

And now, rounding out the top five, comes the American tech giant, which indicated 4,250 permanent employees in Luxembourg in celebrating its 20th year of being in the grand duchy.

Next are BGL BNP Paribas (3,754), PWC (3,700), ArcelorMittal (3,521) and Goodyear (3,500).

Finally, Luxair has held onto tenth place, but this will be the last time: next year, with the takeover of 1,200 of its handling employees by Cargolux, the latter with some 3,100 employees.
