“More and more flower shops are closing their doors because the profession of florist can no longer exist in the traditional way.” This is not the case for Kathlyn Claire Wohl, 29, who is breathing new life into the floral world with Infiiorata, the botanical design studio that she founded in 2021.
She is trying to renew the profession of florist and attract young people to the field. “I’m a floral artist, I use flowers as a means of communication to convey emotions,” she explains, “flowers have more power than we imagine.” After leaving university and completing a three-year apprenticeship as a florist, Wohl chose a non-traditional path.
Today, she “creates floral installations for companies such as Uniqlo and car garages, transforming their spaces into works of art”. She uses local, seasonal plants. Inspired by her grandmother and a passion for nature, Wohl also includes fruit and vegetables in her arrangements.
