Looking for a job in Europe? The Eures portal, the European employment network offered by the European Union which lists three million job offers and 5,000 registered employers, is going to change. On 31 March, jobseekers’ accounts--including their CVs--will be deactivated.
Those affected can transfer their accounts to Europass, “a free platform offering digital tools to build a CV, support the transparency of skills and lifelong learning, and provide guidance for transnational learning mobility and career management,” explains the Eures website.
No more exports possible after 31 March
From 1 April, Europass will serve as a platform for jobseekers and learners. Eures will continue to maintain a vast database of CVs and job vacancies and “provide support for jobseekers from all 27 EU countries, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Employers and Eures advisers will still have access to candidate profiles that have been transferred to Europass and shared with Eures,” it says.
Eures will retain its role in providing personalised job matching services through Eures advisers, mobility advice and recruitment support. People who have created their CV online in Eures should log in to their account and export their CV directly to Europass using the tools provided. After 31 March, exports will no longer be possible and you will need to recreate a profile directly in Europass.
To access Europass and share your CV with Eures, simply log in to Europass using your current EU login credentials (the same as those used for Eures). Once a Europass account has been created, users will be able to connect to Eures to share their profile with employers and employment services across Europe. Eures is a network of almost 1,000 advisers. In Luxembourg, the national employment agency Adem is responsible for coordinating and providing Eures services. In particular, there is an Eures Luxembourg recruitment portal .
