They are the Luxembourg of tomorrow. They have a head full of ideas and a crazy desire to make them a reality. What do they have in common? They are under 40 and represent Luxembourg’s #Nextgen. Each day, discover the portraits of these 100 women and men who make up the new face of the country. In this instalment: Henry Schröder-Castendyck and Steve Vermeer at Lionstone Partners.

Steve Vermeer and Henry Schröder-Castendyck both studied in Luxembourg before pursuing higher education abroad. Vermeer worked in the Netherlands before launching his first company in Luxembourg in 2014. Schröder-Castendyck worked in finance in Frankfurt and later at PWC and Deloitte in Luxembourg.

In 2019, they launched, with the help of Jeff Burmeister, Lionstone Partners, a residential real estate fund focused mainly on Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Their company values transparency, ethics and responsibility towards their investors.

The two men in their 30s are motivated by daily challenges and the potential to create impactful real estate projects. They see their future in Luxembourg, hoping to continue developing their fund and contributing to solving the housing crisis.

Holidays abroad? Yes, but not without their company laptop, because work is 24/7. “We need to be flexible and available online for our investors, but that’s our choice.”
