Luxdata has produced a detailed data dashboard on the ratio of property listings in relation to the population, by municipality.

“In a general context of market tension and housing shortages throughout Luxembourg, it is interesting to note that some municipalities seem to escape the phenomenon,” according to Steve Albrecht at Luxdata.

Luxdata, a data analytics platform in Luxembourg, has partnered with Delano and Paperjam to produce a series of data dashboards on the grand duchy’s housing market ahead of this year’s elections.

This dashboard “plots the number of property listings by commune compared to the total population,” explained Albrecht. “Some communes, such as Mersch and Steinsel, have an over proportional number of offerings, which may indicate that the commune is growing... while other communes are not growing either by political choice or simply due to the lack of available land.”

Albrecht said the findings should be “good news” for “buyers who have more choice in these areas.”
