Frédéric Surdon became the new managing director and CEO of Société Générale Luxembourg on Thursday, replacing Arnaud Jacquemin, who has been appointed head of the group's securities business.

A member of the board of Société Générale Luxembourg since 2019, Frédéric Surdon was named managing director and CEO on Thursday, succeeding , who has been appointed head of the group's securities business.

After working in the real estate department at Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (SGCIB) from 1995 to 2000, Surdon joined the structured asset finance team. In 2004, he became deputy head of the department for continental Europe and the United States, then its head in 2006. From 2008 to 2013, he was chief operating officer of the global finance division worldwide. In 2013, he was appointed global head of export finance and in 2015 he became global head of asset finance, serving in that role until August.
