Luxembourg-made cinema continues to shine at international level, with five films co-produced by Luxembourg production companies included in the selection for the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, which runs from 13 to 23 February 2025.
Three films are in the official selection:
- (The Safe House), directed by Swiss filmmaker Lionel Baier, is a co-production between Luxembourg (Red Lion), Switzerland and France. The actor Michel Blanc, who died in October 2024, plays his last role in the film.
- (Reflection in a dead diamond), co-directed by the French couple Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani, is a co-production between Luxembourg (Les Films Fauves), Belgium, Italy and France.
- (a documentary film) by Ukrainian director Kateryna Gornostai is a co-production between Luxembourg (a_Bahn), Ukraine, the Netherlands and France.
There are also two other films:
- (Confidante) co-directed by French-Turkish couple Çağla Zencirci and Guillaume Giovanetti is a co-production between Luxembourg (Bidibul Produtions), France and Turkey. This film has been selected in the Panorama section, which showcases films by international auteurs in world or European premieres. This section is non-competitive.

- (The Kiss of the Grasshopper) directed by Elmar Imanov is a co-production between Luxembourg (Wady Films), Germany and Italy. This film is presented in the forum section, which focuses on essay, political and experimental films, often made by young talent. This section is not competitive.

Artists and professionals are also well represented at this year's Berlinale: actress and producer Dérisée Nosbusch will be master of ceremonies at the awards ceremony, actress Sophie Mousel stars in two films in the official selection and Vicky Krieps plays in Hot Milk, also in official competition.
Luxembourg’s culture minister, , will be travelling to Berlin to support the grand duchy’s professionals in the sector.
