Baroque specialists and an Afropop legend, epic opera and intimate lieder: which of these golden voices will be your favourite?
12.05. Music from Poland… for free!
The Polish Radio Choir – Lusławice invites you to an a cappella concert, where you’ll be able to discover the depth of ! From Renaissance polyphony to modern compositions by Henryk Górecki and Krzysztof Penderecki, from sacred songs to folk-inspired ones, the emblematic choir will showcase their country’s musical richness. This concert is organised in partnership with the Polish Embassy in Luxembourg and the Polish Institute Brussels and is part of the “Inspiring Culture” programme by the Polish Ministry of Culture. A perfect way to celebrate the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union, just a few days after Europe Day!

13.05. The Flying Dutchman
You might know this legendary ghost ship and its captain Davy Jones from the Pirates of the Caribbean films. It is one of the most famous ghost ships ever after all! No wonder that Richard Wagner – who loved telling a good story – put it to music in his opera Der fliegende Holländer. Tarmo Peltokoski will lead the Luxembourg Philharmonic in a concert version of it, which basically means that it is shorter … but no less lively! Get ready to as pirates search for redemption and love.
22.05. Salif Keita acoustic
The man who has been dubbed “the golden voice of Africa” is presenting us with his first all-acoustic project, . Throughout his career, Malian singer-songwriter Salif Keita has overcome many hardships. Born an albino, and outside the griot caste, some wouldn’t have wanted him to become an artist. Yet, he did it and managed to bring Afropop to the world stage. A powerful, intimate encounter with a living legend ahead!
18.06. Diana Damrau & Jonas Kaufmann
Get ready to be serenaded by these two vocal powerhouses, accompanied by pianist Helmut Deutsch! They bring you classics of the German Lied tradition, with songs by Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss. You’ll go through every emotion: love, longing, melancholy, humour, devotion … all through the prism of nature, memory, romance, and of course !
