Imagine catching some rays on a quiet terrace with a whole raft of fine vintages to try. For a lunchtime tipple or pre-dinner drinks, Wine Not is the place to be if you want to sample some full-flavoured wines.

Based in the beating heart of the Merl district, the Wine Not concept store opened its doors in 2021, much to the delight of wine lovers and bon vivants.

To satisfy the most expert noses, this specialist wine merchant has selected over 300 wines from Luxembourg, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, as well as from far-flung climes such as South Africa and Chile. They also have gin, rum, whisky and other spirits available, so you can treat yourself (or someone else!).

Making wine accessible to all

Don’t worry if you’re still learning or can't decide. Wine Not offers around twenty wine recommendations served by the glass in a variety of sizes from 100 ml and 150 ml. Fell in love on your very first sip? They’ll find your chosen wine from the array of shelves in the wine library and uncork it on the spot (for a corkage fee of €15) or you can take it away as a treat for yourself (or someone else).

Carefully selected pairings

For after-work drinks with friends or colleagues, choose a bottle of Beaune 1er cru Les Aigrots, Domaine Sébastien Magnien. This red wine is a wonderful accompaniment to a gourmet platter of cold meats, featuring Serrano ham, truffled salami and cheeses, in a changing selection that varies depending on availability. Their house speciality is pairing the wines from the Cave des Sommeliers with the flavours in the small dishes created in Cocottes. The food and wine pairings designed by Wine Not change every two months, as does the menu at Chez Cocottes, so they can continue to surprise and delight your palate.

Discover some real gems in an inviting space

The atmosphere inside is cosy and subdued. The wines are displayed and enjoyed in the midst of thousands of bottles in the generously stocked concept store, where they’re classified by region and variety (rosés and sparkling wines, whites and reds). The focal point of the unique interior is the wine cellar with its full-height glass wall, housing Cuvées Prestiges, classic vintages and rare wines that collectors will love.

Would you like to improve your knowledge of wine? Every third Saturday of the month, the wine-curious among you can attend private wine tastings in the tasting room or take part in one of the courses they organise each month around a particular wine region.

During the summer season, the sun-drenched terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a Côtes de Provence Château Maïme Cuvée Héritage or Cuvée Promise rosé, or to toast a special occasion with a white or rosé crémant.
