Former economy minister Etienne Schneider has joined Munich-based artificial intelligence fintech Quantumrock as a senior advisor.

The news is getting old, since Quantumrock published it on 8 November, but former deputy prime minister and economy minister (LSAP) has joined the German fintech as a senior advisor, according to a press release finally received on Tuesday 13 December.

“I’m excited to contribute my experience to Quantumrock’s board of advisors and support the group’s continuing global expansion through the development and implementation of unique and highly-effective AI-driven financial solutions,” the Luxembourger said in a statement.

He joins Andreas Wölfer (ex-UniCredit) and Bernhard Brand (ex-Deutsche Bank and ex-National Bank of Abu Dhabi), as well as long-standing board members such as AXA’s head of open innovation Frank Desvignes.

Quantumrock has developed an artificial intelligence capable of providing better and faster information to investment professionals, whether in trading or asset management.

As head of consulting firm Beta Aquarii, the former minister is also an independent director on several boards, including ArcelorMittal, Besix Group and Jan de Nul. He is chair of the board of directors of LuxTP; an advisor to Ilavska Vuillermoz Capital; a member of the supervisory board of Mikro Kapital; and a member of the advisory board of the Spaceresources.lu initiative.
