There’s been a change at the head of the state office for the assessment and monitoring of long-term care insurance (AEC). Dr Murielle Weydert has been named director, whilst Dr Florence Romano has been appointed deputy director.

Starting 1 April 2025, the state office for assessment and monitoring of long-term care insurance (Administration d’évaluation et de contrôle, AEC) will be headed by Dr Murielle Weydert. Weydert, who has  held the position of senior physician in the curative medicine and health quality division of the health department since 2021, succeeds Dr Nathalie Rausch.

A general practitioner by training, the new director’s mission will be to continue adapting the administration to the growing needs of beneficiaries, against a backdrop of an ageing population. “She has solid experience in the field of health and social protection,” states the ministry of health and social security in a press release.

Weydert will be assisted by Dr Florence Romano, who has been appointed deputy director. A specialist in public health, Romano has held the position of deputy head of healthcare since 2012 and is also acting division head for the division of social medicine, addiction diseases and mental health within the health department.

The new director intends to continue the efforts undertaken to guarantee access to quality services for people in a dependency situation, in close liaison with the ministry and players in the sector, notes the ministry.

Health and social security minister  (CSV) took the opportunity to thank Rausch and Dr Jacques Lück for their commitment and dedication to the AEC over recent years.
