The project was revealed at the presentation of two special reports by the court of auditors to parliament on Monday.
According to a statement, it is also planned to make a single payment system for the different transport options. “The user should then be able to buy both his ticket and access an mBox for his bike or a parking space at a P+R via the same application,” the press release read.
The project would build on a €20-million-investment from national transport managers Verkéiersverbond from 2011-2017 to create a telematics, real-time information system for regional RGTR and TICE buses. It is one of three existing telematics systems, the other two being for VDL buses and CFL rail lines.
Infrastructure and sustainable development minister François Bausch said the three systems were compatible even if they are not yet available from a single screen.
