The survey, published on Wednesday 29 November, was conducted among around 2,000 primary and secondary school teachers and substitute teachers, and carried out by TNS Ilres, a private polling firm. Other civil servants showed only a 43% satisfaction rate.
57% of teachers are happy with the work, and 65% with their salaries. Less than half (48%) are satisfied with their working conditions and their career perspectives (36%).
However, 69% are always or very often proud of their work.
The following factors play a big motivation factor for teachers: autonomy (87%), the content of their work (86%), the atmosphere in group work (72%), the work environment (68%).
86% feel they do something worthwhile, and 81% feel they are well treated at work.
However, many complained about being stressed a lot (32%), and a minority felt stressed all the time (10%).
