The Daily Mail has reported on the divorce settlement of Prince Louis and Tessy Antony after a court hearing in London on Wednesday. Judge Mr Justice MacDonald said he was limited in the case to making orders that include the prince paying nominal “periodical payments” of “£4,000 per annum per child” and allowing Tessy and her two children, Noah and Gabriel a “licence to occupy” the home the couple shared when married.

Claiming he had an inheritance of just £200,000, Prince Louis had reportedly offered to pay £3,000 a year per child and to give Tessy the family car. It is usual in Luxembourg divorce cases for the non-custodial parent to pay around €300 per month in child support.

The report says that Tessy had originally asked for a £1.5 million lump sum to buy a family home and a car. It also cites Prince Louis as saying that during their marriage Tessy had had “undertaken her role ‘with grace’ and served Luxembourg's royal family well.” The judge said “nothing could be further from the truth” following accusations in some media that Tessy was a gold digger. He added that the divorce was “simply a sad case” of a couple who had been in love before their “fairytale soured.”
