The bank said that Zeltner succumbed on Sunday to a “health issue [that] was diagnosed last year.”
Zeltner was named group CEO and a board member of Quintet, which was formerly known as KBL European Private Bankers, in May 2019. Zeltner was previously president of UBS Wealth Management in Zurich.
Jan Maarten de Jong, Quintet board chairman, said in a statement released on 23 March:
“We are enormously grateful to Jürg for his visionary leadership and invaluable contribution in defining a long-term growth strategy for our firm. We will miss his presence as an inspiring colleague and man of great intelligence, integrity and honor.”
The board named Jakob Stott, who had been serving as interim group CEO since December 2019, as Zeltner’s successor. Stott was appointed wealth management CEO after joining Quintet, also from UBS, in May 2019.
Zeltner is survived by his wife and two children.
