The figure was disclosed by Étienne Schneider, the LSAP deputy prime minister and internal security minister, on 20 February. He was answering a parliamentary question from the CSV MPs Léon Gloden and Laurent Mosar.
Schneider stated that each vehicle cost €107,540, which was covered by the government’s climate change fund. In addition, almost €28,000 was needed to kit out and test both cars.
Luxembourg Police is awaiting the results of checks (of the car’s blue emergency lights) by the German safety inspection outfit TüV. That report is expected to be delivered, according to Schneider, at “end of the month of February.”
