The two parties formed the technical group in November 2018.

Technical groups are vehicles for participating in parliamentary business, such as securing committee posts and speaking time on the floor, as well as administrative matters. At least 5 MPs are required to form a technical group. The ADR has 4 MPs and the Pirate party has 2.

In a joint statement released on 12 December, the parties said:

“After a year of existence, the two parties have carried out an evaluation of the agreement and consider that coexistence within a technical group no longer seems to be required. The creation of the technical group served to organise parliamentary work, without, however, entering into collaboration in terms of infrastructure, personnel and [legislative] programmes. In view of the readjusting of the allowances made available to political groups [with seats in the Chamber of Deputies], maintaining the technical group is superfluous.”

The technical group will end on 31 December.
