The event took place on 23-24 September and required teams to spend 30 hours developing an innovative application for the public sector blockchain.
Neofacto’s ClaimIT! aims to streamline basic authorisation processes by reducing administrative burdens, and Neofacto made a convincing presentation to the jury through a use case showing how its project could help disabled citizens more quickly get authorisation for parking permits, potentially saving some €150,000 in print costs per annum.
Filedgr placed first runner-up for its project on a certify data transfer system to simplify documentation and won €3,500. Second runner-up PwC-Tokeny presented its Trust Care project, focused on reducing possibility for fraud in health care, and won €2,000 for its efforts.
In an Infrain press statement, jury president and chief counsellor at the ministry for digitalisation, Gaston Schmit, called the final decision “a very tough choice. The difference between the fourth and the first was only a few points.”
The event was the first of its kind for Infrachain, a non-profit which launched in 2017 which aims to strengthen digitalisation efforts and facilitate blockchain applications developments.
