Representatives from the Luxembourg delegation to France signed the Memorandum of Understanding for a long-term cooperation agreement with Airbus officials, on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the Luxembourg economy ministry published on Wednesday, Airbus will be an official partner of Luxembourg’s Cybersecurity Competence Centre, monitoring threats and vulnerabilities, offering training and providing a testing ground for new digital solutions.
It was said to be interested in signing a long-term partnership with public-private certification authority LuxTrust.
Airbus will be the preferred partner for the helicopter sector, particularly in research and development, meanwhile the full scope for space cooperation with Luxembourg actors has still to be defined.

The agreement also enables Airbus to provide training sessions for Luxembourg companies which are likely to become potential suppliers of Airbus.
In January 2018, the government approved the purchase of two Airbus 145M helicopters, for defence purposes, which could also be used by police, the government said.
“The dual-use policy--military and civilian--will allow certain defence-acquired capabilities of the defence effort to be available to other actors and departments as well,” it said.
