The relocation mechanism was established in September 2015 to alleviate the burden of the administrations in Greece and Italy, where the bulk of refugees arrived. Luxembourg had agreed to take in 557 people from these two countries.
On 30 November and on 20 December 2017, 38 people arrived from Italy, while 29 were relocated from Greece.
Olai, the integration office, will take care of their settling in and guide them in daily life and help with the asylum applications.
