- Renovations to the area used by airplanes at Findel airport will now take place in the spring of 2019. The works, which include a runway extension and building more aircraft stands, was announced in 2015.
- The CSV’s branch in the capital wants to reduce the number of commuters into Luxembourg City by increasing the supply of housing. The area west of Cessange and the northern part of Kirchberg could be developed into large residential neighbourhoods, said Serge Wilmes, who heads the CSV Stad ticket. Local elections take place in October.
- DekaBank is reportedly considering a reorganisation of its Luxembourg operations. The German bank could consolidate certain overlapping activities at its offices in the grand duchy and its HQ in Frankfurt. As of 2016, DekaBank employed the equivalent of 340 full-time staff in Luxembourg. Local turnover was €264.6m, around 16% of the bank’s global total, down from 19.5% in 2015.
- LuxFlag has announced the creation of a “green bond” certification label, the agency’s fifth type of certificate. LuxFlag checks that financial firms execute on their socially responsible investment claims.
