“Les hirondelles de Kaboul” (Melusine Productions), “Chambre 212” (Bidibul) and “O Que Arde” (Tarantula) were officially selected on 18 April.
The 3 motion pictures are among the 16 films screened in the “Un Certain Regard” section of “original and different” works. The winner of this category will receive a €30,000 prize.
“Les hirondelles de Kaboul” (The swallows of Kabul), a feature-length animated film, is a love story. It was directed by Zabou Breitman and Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec. The original version is in French.
“Chambre 212” (Room 212) is a romantic comedy directed by Christophe Honoré. The original version in is French.
“O Que Arde” (A Sun That Never Sets), directed by Oliver Laxe, tells the story of a “notorious” arsonist and a young firefighter. The original version is in Spanish.
This year’s festival takes place 14-25 May.
