That’s according to figures released by Statec, the national statistics office, on 3 July.
Statec said that Amazon employed 2,250 staff as of 1 January 2018.
1,210 people worked at the e-commerce giant in 2016 and 880 in 2015. Figures for 2017 and prior to 2015 were not published. However, Amazon has previously stated that it employed around 500 people in 2009.
