Who would win the parliamentary elections if they were to vote this Sunday? To answer this question, Ilres interviewed a representative panel of 1,885 voters between 23 March and 6 April for the ‘Sonndesfro’ of the Wort and RTL.
The result is that the CSV would lead with 27.1% of the votes, followed by the LSAP (17.9%), the DP (17.1%), and then déi Gréng (12.8%). The four parties would win 17, 12, 11 and eight seats in parliament respectively. The Piratepartei would have six, the ADR four and déi Lénk two. The next largest party, Fokus, with 2% of the vote, would not win any seats.
Compared to the current mandate, this would mean a gain of seats for the Piratepartei (+4) and LSAP (+2). The ADR and déi Lénk would remain stable. The DP and déi Gréng would each lose one seat, the CSV four.
Compared to a similar survey conducted six months ago, the CSV and the Piratepartei are rising in voting intentions while the LSAP is falling.
LSAP, CSV and DP wanted in the next government
The DP-LSAP-déi Gréng coalition could still retain its majority with 31 seats, but this time with the LSAP as the leading political force.
39% of respondents would prefer a two-party coalition, although three parties would be needed to obtain a majority, according to the survey.
Only the LSAP (0.7/5), the DP (0.5/5) and the Piratepartei (0.1/5) have a positive evaluation of their work. It is 0 for the CSV and negative for déi Gréng (-0.4), déi Lénk (-0.7) and the ADR (-1.5).
47% say they are in favour of the LSAP being represented in the next government, 42% for the CSV, 41% for the DP. Déi Gréng came a step further with 29%, and the Piratepartei, 17%.
Despite this, when asked who should become prime minister, (DP) is still the favourite (30%).
(LSAP) comes next with 23%, followed by (CSV) with 20%. (déi Gréng) gets 6% of favourable opinions to take over the leadership of the country, less than the answer “none of the mentioned candidates” (13%) or “don’t know” (8%).
