Garcia had announced his decision to step down from the post two years ago, but wanted to wait until the Rotondes was firmly ensconced in its new refurbished premises in Bonnevoie before leaving.

Meyers was one of several “excellent candidates” who applied for the post, but his eight years of experience in charge of the general and visual arts programme at the CarréRotondes and Rotondes made him the favourite to take over the general running of the arts venue.
