Because almost everyone has projects and dreams but few of us are able to achieve them. There may be several reasons for this: no time, no money or simply circumstances of life. Should we abandon our projects and only dream? Not necessarily. Here are some tips that may help you make your dreams a reality.

Focus on the why, not the how

Instead of asking yourself how you would carry out your project, ask yourself why you want to achieve it. What inspires you? What results are you expecting? Give concrete answers instead of platitudes like “I want to become rich and famous”.

Establish an action plan

By focusing on what motivates you, you will maintain your enthusiasm and your passion but this is not enough to succeed! Some planning is required. Whilst staying focused on your final target, you should also set measurable interim goals, break them into sub-goals and then into individual tasks. Set up a plan of all the tasks you need to accomplish on a given day. Finally, create some type of visual representation of your plan;

Assume responsibility for your actions

Don’t look for excuses or reasons why a job cannot be done. If you don’t get the results you want, don’t blame others; try something else, change your own approach and look for alternative ways. The secret of success is trying again and again until you make it happen.

Take action

Believing in your project is good. Taking action is better. What do you have to do to accomplish what you have envisioned? Don’t let a day go by without taking a step - even a small one - toward your final goal.

Get the support of a team of experts

Launching a project alone – especially if the project is very important – is not the best way to go. Get the support of people who are skilled in areas in which you don’t have any or enough experience.

Be patient and confident

We are living in the age of ephemerality and instant gratification. Yet, carrying out a project takes time, a lot of time. However, reaching a goal you have been working toward for a long time will fill you with pride, joy and serenity.

Let go from time to time

Focusing on your goal must not become an obsession. When you feel like you’re not progressing despite of your hard work, give yourself a break. Temporary detachment allows your brain to generate new ideas and think more creatively. So take time to laugh with your friends, play with your children or go on vacation.

Letting go will allow you to review your progress. If you realise that your project is doomed to failure, don’t continue even if you have already invested a lot of time and effort.

Don’t be afraid of failures. If success makes you happy, failures make you stronger. Stay positive, whatever happens.
