The announcement was made by the interested party to our RTL colleagues. Claudia Monti pointed out that the positions she has held since April 2025 are on a voluntary basis. She would like to return to paid employment and is currently applying for a position in a social ministry. Hut Hëllef, the successor to Caritas, receives most of its funding from the public purse. Before taking up the presidency of Hut, Claudia Monti practised as a lawyer specialising in family law and held the position of Ombudsman (mediator) from 2017 to 2025.
No successor named
No indication has been given of her potential successor. Claudia Monti did say, however, that "when you fight poverty and defend integration and inclusion, you are making a political statement. I hope my successor will do the same."
The association's board of directors currently comprises, alongside the resigning president, Christian Billon, Willy de Jong, David Hagen, Netty Klein, Pascal Rakovsky, Marisa Roberto and Evie Roos. Hut Hëllef currently has 373 employees. In addition to public funding, Hut Hëllef has received 300,000 euros from 969 donors.
