Eduardo Gramuglia Pallavicino has been appointed Citi’s country officer and banking head for Luxembourg, effective immediately pending regulatory approvals, the global financial services corporation announced on Monday. He will focus on enhancing client relations and regulatory representation while continuing in his role as securities services head for Luxembourg.
In his new role as CCO, Gramuglia Pallavicino will oversee the execution of Citi’s strategy in Luxembourg, aimed at establishing the bank as a leading partner for institutions with cross-border needs and a global leader in wealth management. His responsibilities will include implementing the firm-wide transformation in Luxembourg, nurturing client relationships at all organisational levels, and safeguarding and enhancing Citi’s reputation in the country. He will also act as the primary regulatory representative for Citi in Luxembourg, the bank stated in an announcement.
Gramuglia Pallavicino joined Citi in 2023 as securities services head for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Prior to joining Citi, he held several senior management roles, including chief executive officer and country head of Luxembourg at State Street. His previous experience also includes positions at ABN Amro Mellon, BNY Mellon and Brown Brothers Harriman, based in Luxembourg and London. Before his tenure at Citi, Gramuglia Pallavicino served as chief revenue officer at Next Gate Tech, a European fintech startup focused on digitising data and analytics for middle and back-office activities.

Citi has been operating in Luxembourg for over 50 years, offering a comprehensive range of financial products and services to corporations, governments, investors and financial institutions. The bank employs approximately 270 people in the country.
