Christian Borner is UBS Luxembourg’s new country head, the firm announced in a press release dated 27 February 2024. Borner took up the position at the beginning of the calendar year.
Among the duties of the new country head are overseeing UBS Group business conducted in the grand duchy, seeking opportunities for cross-business collaboration between UBS divisions and group functions, and generally growing this franchise of the firm.
Borner has been with UBS for two decades, having begun his career at UBS Zurich. Following stints in wealth management in the US and London, he joined UBS Luxembourg in 2011 as head of investment products and services. In 2021 he became head of asset servicing, a role he still holds.
“My team and I are passionate about precision and keen on servicing our clients front to back out of one hand making use of UBS’s global network and knowledge,” says Borner on the UBS website.
The firm reported $29.916bn, including a negative goodwill of $28.925bn, in profits before tax in 2023.
