Open since late June, Ceruzzi is the new restaurant of the Come à la Maison group. Located in the Cloche d’Or, it has taken over the former Comptoir Bohème. “The focus of the cuisine has remained the same, namely that of the south--Italy in particular--and the Mediterranean, a cuisine of the sun,” explains Axel Didailler, the restaurant’s manager. “Our aim is to offer a varied menu, with plenty of options so that people who work in the area can come here regularly without ever getting bored.” Under the guidance of chef Fausto Chiapello, the menu offers a good choice of pizzas, pastas, meat and fish, including whole fish, ceviches and tartars. “However, we have introduced a new feature: thanks to the presence of our sushi master, we are now also able to offer a menu of sushi made on the premises.” From September on, there will also be brunches.
An office clientele and family & friends
The restaurant’s strategy is simple: during the week, they’ll work with business customers (mainly around lunchtime); and in the evenings, with residents of the new district. On Friday evenings and weekends, the team aims to attract more family and friends, and intends to take advantage of the fact that the restaurant is located in a non-residential area to introduce a more festive offering on Friday and Saturday nights, with live concerts and a dance floor. Andrea, the restaurant’s barman, is in charge of creating the house cocktails--both made-to-measure and the classics--which are sure to add to the festive spirit.
“The strong point of the previous establishment was its very successful decoration. We’ve kept most of it, but made a few slight changes,” explains Séverin Laface, CEO of the Come à la Maison group. The changes include an even bigger terrace, now able to seat 120 people, and the introduction of a takeaway counter from September. “We’ll be offering sandwiches, pasta boxes, focaccias... to provide a complementary service for people who come to work in the area during the week,” adds Didailler.
Families will still be welcome, with a children’s corner open on Friday evenings and weekends.
The restaurant also caters for events. “We can organise afterwork events as well as family meals for christenings or weddings, corporate meals or apéritifs and walking dinners,” explains Didailler. The restaurant seats 220, and all or part of the space can be made private. “It’s also possible to change the configuration of the restaurant, which gives us a great deal of freedom to adapt the layout to your requirements.”
Difficulties? Forget about them!
The former establishment experienced difficulties, particularly , and had struggled to get back on its feet, closing its doors in March 2024.
Today, the team numbers 18 people, nearly half of whom were already working there before. “We were able to rehire some of the team from the old restaurant,” explains Laface. “There were difficulties with the former employer, but several people remained loyal and are now back on the team."
As for the risk of flooding during heavy rain, it seems to be under control. “We hope this will be a thing of the past,” says Didailler. “In any case, substantial work has been undertaken by the building’s owner and we now have a number of means at our disposal to combat rising water levels if this were to happen again.”
Ceruzzi is the eighth address in the Come à la Maison group, which includes the eponymous restaurant in Hollerich (which has been open for ten years), Come à la Rôtisserie in Belair, Il Mercato in Strassen, Piccolo Come and the Gelateria in the city centre, Come Italia at the railway station and Come al Teatro in Differdange.
Until the start of the new academic year, the restaurant will be open for lunch on Mondays, for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Friday, and for dinner on Saturdays. From September, it will be open 7 days a week.
