The of developers’ section of the Chambre immobilière has held its first general meeting. It was an opportunity to elect the members of the executive committee, with Max Didier named chair and Éric Lux as vice chair.

The new developers’ section of the Chambre immobilière, Luxembourg’s chamber of estate agents, entered a new phase of its activity with the holding of its first general meeting on 19 September 2024. During the meeting, members of the executive committee were elected, with (CDCL) named chair for a two-year term. (Iko Real Estate) was elected vice chairman, Joe Schmit (Vevalo) general secretary, Steve Vermeer (Lionstone) treasurer and (JPS Consult) spokesman. The committee is completed by (Arend & Fischbach), Maurice Elz (Wiesen-Piont), Tun Feltes (Bourg) and (BPI).

The Chambre immobilière is an organisation representing professionals in the Luxembourg property sector. It works actively to promote the interests of its members and to guarantee the quality and integrity of real estate transactions in the country. Members of the developers’ section's committee have recently taken part in several dozen working group meetings set up as part of the housing table to help develop measures.

Continuing discussions and efforts

The general meeting also included a meeting with the minister of home affairs, (CSV), who stressed the importance of measures to simplify administrative procedures in order to encourage activity in the sector.

In the short term, the developers' section intends to contribute to the recovery of the market, and in the medium term to a number of key challenges, including speeding up administrative procedures, complying with new environmental requirements, and developing innovative practices to meet the growing demand for housing.

The members present also discussed future challenges linked to the growth of the property market and the need to promote sustainable construction practices. They emphasised the need to strengthen links between the public sector and developers to encourage more effective collaboration.
