Taste area (GridX): young and old alike
Fancy celebrating Easter without spending hours in the kitchen or wrestling with a massive leg of lamb that, you’d swear, is giving you a sarcastic look? The solution: head to GridX, where the Taste restaurant has put together, for the first time, a festive brunch at an affordable price (€39 per adult, €19 per child) that’s full of springtime vibes and shared enjoyment. On the menu: a delightful mix of sweet treats, classic favourites and savoury bites that make you want to try everything (go on, have a third plate… no one’s judging). All in a warm and lively atmosphere, turning this Easter feast into a true moment of togetherness.
And because Easter wouldn’t really be Easter without a few bursts of laughter in the background, there’ll be activities for children to keep the little ones entertained, allowing the adults to enjoy their coffee in peace (or their second dessert – again, we’ve seen you, but we’re not judging). There’s just one requirement, though: make sure you wear the most stretchy trousers in your wardrobe.

Porta Vecchia: a warm welcome
Porta Vecchia is something of an institution that everyone has heard of, even those who swear they never leave the house. As for what the building was before it became a restaurant, let’s just say that its history is as rich as its menu… Today, the restaurant has built a solid reputation by working tirelessly (and with panache) to serve the best of Italy: an extensive wine list for wine lovers, seasonal produce treated like VIPs, homemade pasta that would bring a nonna to tears, and all the generosity of Roman cuisine, all topped off with a warm, attentive welcome. Good news for organised foodies and latecomers: the restaurant will be open on Sunday and Easter Monday. Because there’s never a bad time for good food.

Thailand: travel without leaving home
Le Thaïland’s reputation is well established, but for those new to Luxembourg, make a note of the address – it could well save you from a disappointing dinner. In this rather quiet neighbourhood, there aren’t many options to choose from, especially when a sudden craving for exotic cuisine strikes, whether at lunchtime or in the evening. Here, everything ticks the right boxes: easy to get to, discreet yet efficient service, and above all, Thai cuisine that really holds its own. You come for the good food, you stay because it simply works. And a pleasant surprise: after being criticised for a while for its service, the restaurant seems to have turned things round. Perfect for a meal with family or friends, especially as it will be open on Easter Sunday. A decidedly spicier alternative to the traditional lamb.

Vito’s: a treat for the taste buds
Behind a name that couldn’t be more ordinary lies a real Italian gem. The perfect spot for lovers of good food (and good cheer). Here, you can order with complete confidence: pasta, piadina, meat or fish – everything’s on the menu and everything’s a treat. In the kitchen, a proper chef (not just an improvised Italian cousin) whips up tasty dishes in a simple, friendly atmosphere reminiscent of a village café, where you’ll soon feel right at home. A significant bonus: a lovely veranda when the sun finally decides to do its job.
Even when you turn up in a large group (family, friends, or slightly rowdy colleagues), the service is efficient, quick and always friendly. Vegetarians aren’t forgotten, and digestifs are served with a certain enthusiasm. So no, we’re not at a Michelin-starred restaurant with a €200 set menu, but honestly, for an honest, generous and no-fuss pizzeria, we’re sold. In short, we’ll be back in a heartbeat.

Florentin: a must-visit in the south
At Florentin, people don’t just come to eat: they come on something of a family pilgrimage. And they’ve been doing so for ages. The place is almost legendary, both for its longevity and for its menu, which strikes a perfect balance between tradition and indulgence, offering generous dishes that are anything but pretentious. Well-prepared meats, seasonal produce and dishes served with flair – here, even if the setting isn’t the most modern, the cuisine has character and pulls no punches when it comes to satisfying food lovers. There’s something to please both the most traditional palates and those of flavour adventurers. In short, a place where you sit down to eat… and where you linger. Make the most of it – Chez Florentin will be open on Easter Sunday and Monday!
